Join our workshop to learn the art of Neriage!
Neriage (meaning “to mix” and “to pull”) is a Japanese technique for creating beautiful marbled ceramics on the wheel rich in swirls and spirals. Depending on the placement of the coloured clays you can achieve delicate lacy patterns or strong bold stripes.
In this 3 hour workshop students will learn a range of methods in creating patterns using a combination of coloured clay on the potters’ wheel and explore faceting and carving to play with different marbled designs.
Students will have the opportunity to take home their creations, which will be kiln fired with transparent glaze, for a fee of £5 per item.
