Immerse yourself in the rich world of Chinese culture as you craft your own miniature porcelain masterpieces. Our expert-led session provides hands-on experience with porcelain clay using ancient Chinese designs.

Duration: 6 hours split across 2 days, 6th & 13th October
Capacity: 6 People
Level: Intermediate/Advanced
Objective:
Students will gain hands-on experience in crafting miniature porcelain items, understand the basics of porcelain manipulation, and create their own unique miniature piece inspired by traditional Chinese designs. Note: Students must already be confident in throwing to participate.
What to expect:
- Introduction to Porcelain: Brief overview of the history and significance of miniature porcelain in Chinese culture.
- Understanding the Clay: Introduction to porcelain clay and tools. A demonstration of throwing off the hump.
- Hands-On Experience: Students start with basic forms (cups, bowls, vases) and applying glazes with a traditional brush technique.
- Instruction: Our expert-led KC will guide you though the process, sharing tips and techniques to bring your artistic vision to life.
Students will have the opportunity to take home their creations, with items charged by weight at a rate of £0.01 per gram (subject to a minimum fee of £5 per item).
We require a minimum of two students per class. If you are the only student booked for a class, you will be offered the option to convert to a private lesson or receive a full refund. Master Class bookings are otherwise non-refundable.
